Connect Cursor
Add Attorly to Cursor's MCP servers and use its tools for contracts, clauses and legal research from Cursor's agent.
Before you start
- An Attorly Pro or Enterprise plan.
- A recent version of Cursor.
Steps
Create a key
Create a key in Settings › Developers and choose Cursor. The settings page then shows the steps below with your key already filled in.

Add Attorly to Cursor's MCP servers. It is available in every Cursor window.
Add this to Cursor's MCP configuration file

Open Cursor Settings and find the MCP section. Attorly should show a green status and its tools. In the agent chat, ask: “List my five most recent documents in Attorly.”
If it does not work
- The status stays red.
- Open the file ~/.cursor/mcp.json and check that it is valid JSON and that the Authorization value is Bearer followed by your whole key.
- The agent does not use Attorly's tools.
- Check that Attorly's tools are switched on in the MCP section of Cursor Settings, and name Attorly in your request.
- Something else went wrong.
- Errors such as 401, insufficient_scope and rate_limited are explained in the MCP troubleshooting section. Every call also appears in Settings › Developers › Request logs, with the error it returned. MCP troubleshooting
